4 Tips for Headache Sufferers

Headaches are very common and can have 1 or more sources. Commonly, we see muscle tension and joint restrictions at the base of the head, neck, and upper back as a contributory factor in most headaches.

Here are 4 things to consider when dealing with headaches:

1. Stretching the suboccipital muscles and neck muscles 1-3 times throughout the day. Simple neck stretching exercises can be found here:

2. Make sure to watch the posture while sitting, on the computer, on the phone, etc. Tightness in between the shoulder blades can affect the neck and head as well. Good shoulder blade/posture movements to consider can be found here:

3. Consider the towel trick to help with orientation of the neck curve which can be relaxing to the muscles of the base of the head, neck, and upper back. Demonstration of this can be found here:

4. Consider supplementing with CoQ10, Magnesium, and Riboflavin (Vitamin B2). There has been correlation with (migraine) headache reduction and consuming these supplements.

As always, this is for informational purposes. Always consult a healthcare provider knowledgeable on headaches.
